Day 1: Marrakech sightseeing tour Overview
Due to the fact that Marrakech mixes between modernity and antiquity, this makes from it one of the most visited cities locally and globally. Marrakech or as Moroccans prefer to name it “the Red City” contains many different traditional markets such as, the Smata-booties, souk Haddadine (iron manufacturers), Chouari-Suk of basket weavers, Cherratine-Souk (leather market), and jewelry Souk. All these different local markets and other historical monuments make from Marrakech a unique city where modernity and traditionality are mixed to create a harmonious image old oldness and newness. In our tour inside the red city, we will visit some of the previous mentioned souks along with other eye-cashing places like Ben Youssef Mosque, Mezquita mosque, the Koubba of al Mouaravdine, and the museum of Marrakech. Besides, we will visit the Bahia Palace which was built in the late 19th to capture the essence of the Islamic and Moroccan style of architecture. We will visit also the El Mansour Mosque which is also called “Della Casba Mosque”. This mosque is well different from other mosques due to its giant minaret that is garnished with turquoise arabesque. After that, we will visit the Saadian tombs before having dinner in a luxurious traditional Riad. Then we will explore Jamaa El Fna square where you will see fortune tellers, snake charmers, music groups, water bearers, tattooists etc.
